I just did a reinstall of Windows XP and now everytime I restart it says "Boot failure, insert system disk and press enter to continue." I put in the XP Pro disk and away it goes.. Why is this, is there any way around it, putting in the XP disk every time I start the computer is really annoying.

Thanks,
Jbrown

Do you have the cd rom listed as the first boot device in the bios? After installing XP or performing a repair install set the hard drive as the first in the boot order. Often I simply disable all others until needed. Look there first. The boot order set for cd rom will cotinue to look for a cd to boot from.

I am a true idiot. Thank you so much, I had HDD1 set as the first boot device, while windows is on HDD0

Thanks again!

OUCH! You set the boot order for a second drive that wasn't there. That will certainly do the trick alright. I needed a good laugh today! :P
