xp sleep not not available as an option

i very rarely shut my computer down, normally i just push the sleep button on my keyboard, and press the power button the next time i want to use it. I switched computers today, both have xp on them, and with this computer, it will not go to sleep. my only options are turn off, or restart. any suggestions so i can get the sleep mode back?

Does the non sleeping computer have the proper drivers for the keyboard?

hold down shift. it should show then.

Check your power options. I noticed that sometimes power options goes to default settings.
