XP SP2 Problems

Just put my old alienware in a new case so its a bit more appealing and takes up less room. I installed XP and all the drivers and everything was working fine. Shortly after installing SP2 my comp would not boot properly. It got past the loading screen and then just stayed blank. I tried booting in safe mode and the same thing happened. Has anyone ever had/heard of a problem like this?
 
no i never had that, i would just say to reformat your disk and put windows, prob the easiest way to fix it
 
Hi,
This windows XP is more advanced from other windows OS. In this, while we install SP2 to the system, it will show some error. How to rectify it?

make a xp cd with sp2 and sp3 integrated (do sp2 first!) as well as your drivers, and try a reinstall. Use nlite for this.
 
Seems like one of the SATA ports is damaged since the HDD boots off another one, though it still wont go past loading screen
