DO NOT GET SP3, Calibretto was right (of course I told him) Some of the new security up dates for XP should be uninstalled before you install SP3. I had installed it on a computer at school and the computer kept getting BSOD and would than restart.
After a long 3 hours of searching the web i found out that a lot of people were having the same problem. I found out that some of the newer updates are (this is good) incompatible with SP3, how funny is that.
so if you try installing SP3 first you ill get this error:
STOP: c0000139 {Entry Point Not Found} The procedure entry point GdiGetBitmapBitSize could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll.
So to get your self out of the hole you will need to
Boot to any windows XP disk (home or pro) and choose the recovery option (R)
type:
cd system32
[Enter]
ren gdi32.dll gdi32.old
[Enter]
cd C:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386
[Enter]
Copy gdi32.dll c:\windows\system32\
[Enter]
exit
[Enter]

Thats it! Just reboot.
2nd. If you get some message when you start up about a DLL file, just rename the DLL file inside of windows and copy the old from the ServicePackFiles folder located in C:\WINDOWS.
Hope this helps everyone with that problem
I'ld recommend that after having the machine back running to uninstall build 3311 of SP3 and install build 5508 trough Windows Update instead in case you want to continue testing SP3 RC until it's final release. See
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3061999&SiteID=17 on how to get build 5508.
Good luck
