Xp start up ?

After formatting hdd and reinstalling XP/SP3 on my desktop on start up of Windows I get this screen.(can't figure out how to insert the picture I uploaded)

RUN AS
O Current user (Name)
O Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity.
O The following users
Guest

OK CANCEL

The circle before Current User(Name) is checked. I click on OK, then I'm able to get on the internet and such.

How do I disable it so I don't have to click OK every time I start my computer? Computer is connected to the internet with a modum and router so I can also use my laptop.

Do the following so we can see what is running at bootup.

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Vista and Windows 7 users must right click on the hijackthis icon and click on run as. If the run as option doesn't appear then press and hold the shift key while right clicking on the icon to get it to appear.



Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces

Then click on fix checked. Reboot your system and see if it still comes up.
 
Did what you said to do and when I restarted the computer the Run AS was gone. Now microsoft security essentials won't run.
The icon in tray is red and when I open it and click on start now it won't do anything.Shows Real Time Protection Off and Virus and Spyware Definitions out of date.

O.k. In the couple of minutes it took me to type this Microsoft Security started up and running.
I'm beginning to think maybe something else is going on.

Now I'm going to try to get my laptop connected to the internet.
 
Usually that only means that you haven't updated MSE in a while. Once the internet connection became active, it downloaded the latest definitions. Do a few restarts and see if the issue persists. You should be fine though.
