Hello
Yesterday my XP auto updated itself and now i have a message each time i start up the computer saying my XP is not genuine and it stays on in the task bar. Is there any way to remove it?

If you legally installed and got the CD key for it then you should call Microsoft. If you got it ilegally then you deserve it.

As others have said, it's because you have an invalid CD Key. They do have ways to temporarily remove the notification, but it's only if you intend on purchasing a legit copy of windows.

I had the same problem even tho I had a legal copy of Windows.I didn't know how to correct it so I took it to the shop that built the system and it was corrected in about five min.Good luck
