XP won't load off CD or Safe mode no matter what....

When attempting to boot to SAfe mode, get a c000021a blue screen, when trying to boot off of cd to repair, get a ox0000007b blue screen. I can get into the OS, but need to repair windows or reinstall due to potential virus. Any suggestions?

yeah, format your drive. that'll detroy any data on the Hard Drive. virus or not.

Really don't want to lose all of the files, just repair would be nice....

If you have another computer put your system HD in there as a slave and get the files off it. then reformat and reinstall. Otherwise you may be SOL. Sounds to me like your hard drive took a poop, may need a new one anyway.
