I plan on getting this card, it has an extremely high core clock and is dx10 capable, does anyone else have suggestions? I know I can go $50 higher for a 320 but is it really worth it?

compare for a 8800gts 320. 8600 is lame. 8600 does have higher clock speed but look at the memory interface bits it is only 128bit

get the 8800gts for 50dollars , way more worth it,the 8800 has alot more of everything besides high coreclock, and is much more dx 10 capable

hmm nice deal ! and silly rabbit !! ofcoruse it has stream processors. i don't really trust rebates. last time i bought a x1650 on newegg. i was suppose to get 10 bucks rebate but never got them

The 8800gts has 96 stream processors.

A quick word of advice; the Hd 2900xt has 320 stream processors, this does not however mean it is three times better. The same goes for comparing Clock and Memory speeds, bandwidth, RAM, everything. Looking at the specs and deciding which card to get can and will be confusing, half of the time the card with better looking specs will be the worse of the compared cards. It is in this instance when you turn to good ol' reliable benchmarks. Anandtech, Guru3d and many others are great for benchies. :)

Wow thanks! I'll definitely get this card, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but what would psu would it take to run this card and a ds3r pentium 3.0 ghz ht and 4 gigs of ram?

1. If your getting the 8800GTS then your not gonna be happy...

WHY:

The Pentium 4 is gonna bottleneck the whole system... maybe even RAM...

Full system specse please.

Pentium 4 ht, Upgrading motherboard to a ds3r right when I order the 8800 and psu. 1 gb ddr2 553 ram, I don't know what else you need to know, 160 gb sata and a 40 gb ide

Does the Ds3 even support P4? I'm not sure.

Another gig of RAM and at least a e4400 would be a huge help, Bottlenecking can be disastrous.

What kind of consequences does bottlenecking do besides slow it down? Also I was planning on just saving up for a quad.... Its going to be a huge upgrade. But would It still be fine to get it now or wait even longer?
