After the consideration and numerous reconfiguration this rig stands before the mighty computer forum for one last inspection/ open comment! Please comment! BTW its a gaming rig, final cost will be roughly 1700.00 since I already have a monitor. I plan on using newegg.

I have researched for a while... for $1700 it doesnt get much better than that. I dont know much about C2D but personally I would go with a 6600

Btw this is my version that unless a stroke of bad luck kicks my ass all be getting this soon.

with those parts, the audio would be poor in comparison with the quality of the other parts. also, dont use ceramique for the cpu.
i suggest the X-Fi xtreme music or w/e its called
and i suggest arctic silver 5 thermal compound.

also, if you plan on gaming one of the most important parts you buy will be the mouse. you don't want a rosewill, definitely not! i had a rosewill once, and though the one you specified has a laser, that doesnt mean that its good. i would rather a logitech optical than a rosewill laser.
get something with 1600 or so DPI, comes with some decent drivers, and laser if you can get that.

i suggest a razr or logitech mouse.. i have the logitech G5 and the G7 is just as good. they both use high quality imaging technology and have 2000dpi, the G7 is just wireless and the G5 can switch weights, not to mention the G5 is a touch cheaper and comes in a different color.

i mean, i have on the fly dpi changing for switching between sniper and regular modes and a bunch of buttons which i can customize to throw grenades, zoom in, and whatever else i want. keyboard doesnt matter a whole lot, but i definitely gotta go with a different mouse on this one...

fixed my build btw I dont know about you guys but dropping $135 for a sound card is not to my fancy with a good mobo it will have a nice sound and I only use headsets so...

NOTE: My build is a bit expensive because I am buying a $300 monitor, $50 keyboard, $40 mouse, $60 HeadSet

yes, but having surround sound audio is a must in gaming nowadays, you hear stuff behind you at least... i think its a definite must, and though all of my sound cards had 3 ports or more, they didn't all support EAX, or newer versions of EAX... which is what REALLY matters, since EAX is the surround sound technology most games use... and then there are things like open audio library (openAL) that only some cards, like creative labs sound blaster cards would support...

I did go back to my original choce for a sound card and picked up a better mouse and keyboard...

I guess I figured whats the point of playing a good looking game with bad controls and crappy sound....

I dont think hearing things behind me is worth my $130 but thats me. Its propably my ears but when I compared an x-fi and a decent sound card using a nice headset there wasnt much diffrence that justifies $130. I used to play CS lan tournaments for money a few years back I had to use mediocre lan PC'S wiothout X-FI and I did just fine :) now if your gonna use a 5.1 speaker system then I would most definitely go for it.

BUT when your in the $2000 range like me and the thread starter I guess $70 for a sound card couldnt hurt. Its your money though so do what you like but i suggest...

Mouse: MX518 or a Razer

Keyboard: Saitek Eclipse II

Headset: ICEMAT Siberia [The most comfortable headset my head has ever felt]
