As it says above folks.... Looking for abit of help for a mate in NZ.

Now what he is looking for is a full hard core gamers system, video editing, the ability to run multiple monitors (Poss upto 6 in total, so internaly linked cards is probs whats needed), A realy beefy CPU (AMD or Intel based), poss 2 gig min memory, ample HD storage, & cd/dvd burning.

His budget is currentaly $4,000 NZ (£1,500 Aprox) for the system, so some ideas would be apprecated. Also he's quite a fan of Nvidia stuff.

This is a great computer with a lot of memory at a great price. The setback is the CPU. Its a AMD Athlon 64 fx60

This computer has even more than what he is asking for but again only a 256mb card.

sorry the conversion to uk pounds was just to give an idea of comparison, some decent machines there but i doubt savastore will deliver to new zealand some how :D

But pre built and custom built machines are welcome, will see what he decides to go for

cheers :)

After doing some SCAN research :D I came up with the following that would do you/him nicely. You'll need to find different retailers, but you get the idea of the components :

Case: Antec P180 (A very well cooled, excellent-performing case)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Motherboard: DFI Infinity 975X
Hard Drive: Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10000RPM 16MB Cache
Hard Drive 2: Maxtor DiamondMax 11 400GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache
Optical Drive: DVD+/-RW 16x16 Dual Layer Drive
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Edition
Power Supply: Antec NeoHE 550W Modular ATX2.0
Extra Cooling: 2 x Arctic Cooling 120mm Fans (Replace the 2 Antec ones)

.. altogether, this leaves us with a tad under £500 for some graphics, and I wreckon this will do the trick! It is a tad over your budget and I know your friend is an nVidia fan, but I'm going for the X1950 which features GDDR4 memory!

Graphics: ATI Radeon X1950XT-X Crossfire Master Edition "SILENT"
Graphics 2: HIS Radoen X1950XT-X Slave Edition "SILENT"

THESE GRAPHICS ARE RUNNING IN CROSSFIRE.
This will give him quad monitor support and these are stunning graphics.

The total is around £1600 from OcUK and Scan - I'm sure you can find them cheaper though!
