Your thoughts on custom a PC build?

Your thoughts on a build?

I've replaced/installed parts in a few of my systems over the years, but have never assembled a rig from scratch.
My brother has tasked me with building a system for him, he has about £1000 to spend & this is what I've come up with:

It will be primarily used for gaming/multimedia (hopefully it will get him off mine when he visits) & I will be overclocking.
I'd appreciate the thoughts of folks here, is there anything you'd change?

Looks really good, although you may want to consider a higher end case, as well as an AIO liquid cooler like the H100i

Thanks for the feedback.. I'd have to be hypnotized to attempt installing a liquid cooler, they terrify me! Interested to know why you think the case could do with upgrading though (to what?) the 300R has been recommended quite a few times as a particularly good one in it's price range.

I do like my 300r. Its a nice case but i will be looking elsewhere next time. I think it could be a little smaller since i dont need tons of harddrives. Also could be quiter without the grating. Am a bit mixed on lit fans as well.

Despite those complaints it was roomy for a build and had nice cable management.

The 200R is nice but lacks adequate space for cards longer then 300mm..

Nice build, but I recommend getting a better board and maybe even 16 GB of RAM.

That board is pretty low end, which means it lacks some features that your brother may or may not use. It also has a low amount of Power Phases and low end VRMS which means no overclocking. Why get a K CPU and a Hyper 212 but skimp on the board?

The case is fine. No need to get a better one. What monitor, keyboard, and mouse will your brother be using.

Could you suggest a better/overclockable board for not too much of a price hike?
