get the Z77. Its a great board (its what I am using).

Really the way I see it is never get the older if there is a newer version. The newer version (z77) has a few more features, but it is designed to work with Ivybridge, so you have that future readiness.

Most Z68-based boards (including mine) will also work with Ivy Bridge if you update the BIOS, but go for Z77 because why buy into the older generation when the cost of the newer generation is the same? You want to be as up-to-date as possible, so go for Z77.

I was not saying that Z68 did not support ivy, I was saying Z77 is meant for it, not shoehorned into ivy service.

Just go for a Z77 board and get an Ivy Bridge CPU when they come out. The 3570K is going to be the 2500K/2550K replacement.
