Just becuase I've got huge issues when dealing with buying new parts, as they cost a lot of money and can fry on you if you're not careful. So, here's a list. You all have looked at lots of them on this forum, yeah? :D

Well, at any rate, tell me what you think.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136047

Heatsink: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154001

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002

GPU: Radeon HD 4870X2 (No link yet, but that's what I'm planing on.)

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145198

Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014133

So, any idea if this rig will run well? Enough power to juice it? All will work nice and fast?

I have all the parts save for the MOBO and the GPU, currently have the ABIT IP35 Pro MOBO, which
is fried, won't post BIOS. So I'm looking into that one I posted. Thanks for any input!

Any other specs needed, just let me know! :D

What is your overall budget?
Do you need an Operating System?
Do you need a mouse/keyboard?
What will the computer be generally used for?

Supplying the answers to those questions will help me and other members of the Computer Forum supply what we think is best according to your answers. :)

The budget is however much the MOBO and the new GPU will cost. ;)

Already have everything I need, Vista Home Premium 64 Bit, keyboard, mouse, wireless X-Box 360 controller, etc etc.

Please list a budget. :)
As the PSU you listed mite not be able to power the HD4870x2.

Well that is a bit high!

Try these

CPU: Q6600 - $189.99

Motherboard: Gigabyte - $79.99

Ram: G Skill 4GB (2GB x 2) - $104.99

Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB - $84.99

Case: a nice one :P - $69.99

PSU: Rosewill 550W - $59.99

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125224 - $194.99

Subtotal: - $784

Monitor: Benq, 24" - $299.99

With Monitor: - $1084

A bit over budget, sorry.

You're going to be stretching that Rosewill. ATi isn't really known for energy efficiency, is it?

If you need a new case--Definitely go with the NZXT Apollo-that's the one I just built my new system around-looks awesome with a blue LED power supply too.

No no, you all don't understand, I have all the parts already. They're in my room, in my case, just the MOBO won't post BIOS. It's dead. So I'm asking really if the new ATI card (which is supposed to be VERY energy efficient) will work with all my parts. Also, a cheaper new MOBO wouldn't hurt.

Right now we see, well maybe the motherboard is dead then.

Is the HD4870 x2 even out yet? I can't find it.

Same.

No, I think it's launch is for mid-July. Just enough time for me to have it come out and let the price fall a little while I save up. :D

Well, that isn't now, so i don't see how he (the OP) has got the card.

Wow.

Ok. Let's take this step by step.

Because I'm really wondering right now.

I am looking for a new motherboard. While I'm at it, I want a new GPU. The 4870x2 is coming out mid-July. So, mid-July, I want to buy it. I've never had an ATI before, always NVIDIA. Since I've never had an ATI, I was wondering if an ATI card would work with the parts I already have, or if there are any incompatibilities.

Now, we all get it, yeah? Me. I need a new motherboard recommendation. One that will work well with the ATI GPU and one that is fast, reliant. Not like the ABIT I have now that is fried.

All on the same page? Lord, how I messed explaining this up from the start I'll never know. :P

Ahem.

Sorry for any disclosing alignment to this, but I'm still rather curious as to whether or not these parts will work together. I don't visit any other forums other than here, so help would be appreciated. :)

Yes everything will work together.

If you would like, post an updated list on what you are going to get / thinking of getting.

Alright, here's the list(s).

What I have right now:

These are the parts I am currently using for my rig.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037

Heatsink: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154001

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145198

Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014133

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127030R

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130325

Harddrive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148274

Now, what I am replacing is the motherboard and the GPU. The reason is, is the motherboard is fried. I can not post BIOS any longer, and with the help of a few calls it has been determined that it is the MOBO that had failed. I want a new GPU becuase the new HD4870x2 by AMD is a monster of a card, and is supposed to consume less power than other cards. I am sick and tired of NVIDIA and their horrible drivers, and as such I have chosen to switch to them this round. So, here's the new MOB I am thinking of getting and the new GPU:

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136047

GPU: http://www.nordichardware.com/news,7900.html (Somewhat good information about the card.)

So it's good to know everything will play nice. My PSU is up to the task and all, right?

Thanks again everyone! :D
