As for my last two questions, I was wondering if another set of those RAM sticks also be compatible, and if anyone has suggestions to parts that cost less but work just as (or nearly) as effective? I'm trying to keep my budget low.

Thank you all for your help :)

1. - Different Motherboard
2. - Quad core processor
3. - G skill or OCZ ram
4. - Get a DVD burner / lightscribe burner
5. - Main use of PC????
6. - What is your budget??

Sorry, forgot to put the budget ><

I'm trying to keep it around $800, as I still need the OS, monitor and all of that. I'm going to be using this purely for gaming.

$800 might be tight, i'll see what i can do....

OK, here we go:

Total - for box - $802.91

Total - including monitor - $982.90

Your build is a little different to mine, you have just got the box down..... so that is what i have based mine alone with, hopefully it is OK..... :o

ok most of the stuff seems good. with $800 budget you dont need a quad, that 8400 is AWESOME! get a slightly better psu, this one is bottom line for the 8800gt. have to remember you want 550, but a good 500 will do. this one has 2 +12v Rails @ 18A ea. try finding one with slightly better

I would go E8400 over the Q6600, the 8400 has the newer 45nm transistor technology and as some people have stated above, is a badass cpu.

Taking into account everything you guys have said, I've come out with the following:

Same case

Hard Drive:

Video card:

PSU:

RAM:

Motherboard:

CPU:

I've heard good things about that video card, so I decided to try to keep that. If anyone disagrees, please let me know.

I'm hoping this PSU will do better then the previous one would. I took your guys' advice on all the other parts.

Also changed CD-ROM drive, but I don't think that's too important.

Thanks again for your help.

It's worth that extra $10.

If you're not worried about cable management.

Cheaper and better cas latencies.

P45-DS3L

Newer, 45nm, PCI-E 2.0, ect...

And a Q6600 to top it off. Future proof and great. If you're overclocking, even better. Either is fine however.
