I would need to sell my 360 and games to get a pc that would be able to play every game out on the highest settings...What do you think i should do stick with the 360 or sell? :)

Depending on the 360 and condition, you wont get more than $400, but I don't know.

To build a good computer, I'd say around $1000 if not more, but there are probably builds that are cheaper than that.

My build was around 525 and it works fine for most current games (see sig).
With a little overclocking (GPU and CPU), it should be able to run highest settings on most games (if it cant already, idk (now im tempted, gonna dl crisis ;) ) )

The thing is, a PC wont last as long. 360 will be able to play all games until a little after the next model comes out.
PC will need updating every year to 3 years depending on how demanding you are. (But at the same time, the games continue to look better, Compare a PS2 to a computer that was top of the line just before PS3 came out).

heh i have some other money...the build i wanted was around 900$ but i also have most popular current games cod4, halo3, guitar hero3, etc 5 controllers and more how much do you think i could get with that..its brand new too with a 2 year warranty.. and can that 500$ rig run cod4?

hah i will have no problem with upgrading every year or so, but i just enjoy games much more on the pc...and sorry i dont really know much about pcs but what exactly is overclocking?

depends mainly on the specs of the system, i think an 8800gt, a p35 mobo, 2gb's of ram, an e7200 would probably work, i'm not sure on the price of all that, though

Yeah, my rig runs COD4 on highest settnigs, 1440x900 easily.

http://www.computerforum.com/13239-cpu-101-a.html Not sure how much basic info there is easily availible in that but overclocking is essentially making your processor and some other components (GPU, RAM) run at a higher speed then they were set to when you bought them. Im not an expert in the department either but there is plenty of information and help availible on this forum and others.

If you enjoy PC games more, I would say your better off with a PC ;) After games, accesories (asuming o

Oh yaeh, just realized i didnt get a case with my computer so figure its about 600. Also, that price doesnt include os, keyboard, mouse, monitor (not sure if you need those).

You could get a really good computer for 900.

From wikipedia
Overclocking is the process of forcing a computer component to run at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was designated by the manufacturer,

Yeah, i was thinking about getting that, its around 500 (w/o case, os, monitor etc). I just put in like an extra $30 to get a HD4850.

I have both, but it really depends on the games you play. Gears 2 is coming out in November, and Starwars Force unleashed is coming out soon to. Not to mention Prince of Persia and a few others. The next two quarters look really good for the Xbox. FPS are by far better on the comp though, but gears I think works well with the controller.

Just sell off the games you dont play anymore, and save up an extra month or two for the PC so you can have both. I don't think you would get THAT much just for the xbox anyway.

Thanks guys, I'm still not sure what i am going to do yet i just really enjoy games more with a mouse and keyboard heh.

Since you're not sure, stick with your Xbox. You'll get the games earlier and you would probably get more out of it as a casual gamer.

It's your call, but i say stick with it, or atleast try gaming on a friend's pc before you invest in it.

you make it sound as if a new xbox 360 when they came out would last longer then a good pc, which is not the case. an xbox 360's graphics are maxed out in most every game for it, it wont lag much but the graphics wont get any better. a pc bought at the same time as the xbox will also play all games for the 360 at mostly max settings (which are almost always better then the 360's settings,). the 360 however is limited in that once the new model comes out games will no longer be compatible for the system. however the pc will still be able to play the games at the same or slightly better graphics then the years before when the xbox originally came out.

lol i game a lot and usually go to a cyber cafe about twice a month, and i really enjoy pc games better its just the fact i dont know much about how pcs work haha.

true, but newer games will have their grafics adjusted to the hardware of the console (and mostly those grafics are better on a console than on a pc with simmilair hardware :) ) Either way, I'd stick with the xbox, I mean, you say its brand new, you wont get (even close) the money back you paid for it for starters. (at least, thats the case over here, usually you can be happy if you get 2/3 of the new value back when selling it.)

The reason its brand new is cause my old one got the ring of death, i had a warranty and got a new one :). I have actually had an 360 since the month it came out lol

stick with both bro. I'd be willing to bet you would regret losnig the xbox when some of these new beast games come out.

Pc gaming is dying... I love building pcs... there better for FPS but... I would save up and build a pc and I wouldnt sell the 360. I tried to sell my xbox before i can to germany, Im glad I didnt tho.. ebgames doesnt give you shit... even if it takes you a while to save the money... the parts you want now will just get cheaper and cheaper

one reason to not sell the xbox (at least, imo :P ) is that new starwars game beeing released ^.^ Star Wars: Force Unleashed. as far as I know its not going to be released for the pc :(

What do you base this statement on? Other than the fact that games are sometimes released late (and after its released for consoles). Programs such as steam show that imo, PC gaming is growing...but i dont really want to hijack this thread.

Yeah that game looks rad. IMO, the only reason to keep your 360 (which I would) is for the exclusive games and games that are more fun with a controler anyway (racing, sports (but you can get a controler for pc cheap (lol contradictory comment sorry)))
