Our first i7 & Phenom2 builds....with pics!

So, I took a bunch of snaps at the shop today of our first i7 demo build.

Unfortunately, my ASUS mobo and cooler were snatched for a customer, but we got a brand spanking new Intel Extreme x58 mobo and were giving an i7 940 cpu a go and using a new, redesigned STOCK Intel cooler!!

Notice this board has 4 ram channels--not 6 like most other x58's--We are running tri-channel OCZ pc3-12800 (2GBx3) and we're leaving the 4th bank empty. (Not quite sure what the deal is with this yet)

Currently using an Antec 1200..that will most likely change once a new ASUS extreme rampageII comes in.

--Also in the Silverstone chassis is the very first Phenom 2 build--a very good customer is geting this delivered this week as a xmas gift. Appreciation for years of loyal support.--:)

--Also 2 random night shot of the storefront..

Enjoy the pics...sorry bout the quality...

Looks great! I love the OCZ posted! How much for it?! :P

So, is it like a repair store you're at?

Sorry, we literally just got those ocz posters today!! pen's too!! lol

We do repairs, but we are also a full-fledged online retailer and custom pc builder. We are associated members with OCZ, AMD, ATI.

Pretty much build you or ship you anything you can imagine!:) (No I'm not husslin' business..so nobody ask me)

you'll have to post some benchies compared between the two of them, and would you recommend that intel board over one of the gigabyte ones?

As far as benches go..we wont have time to run them on the PhenomII a we want to send it to our customer before Dec 1st. Maybe we will ask him to run some and take screens or we will surely be doing one more in the next little bit.

As far as the x58's go...I can't say if either Intel or Gigabyte is going to be better--also..we don't sell Gigabyte so I most likely will never test them.

I know the ASUS P6T-Deluxe and Rampage ExtremeII x58's are both great boards--but what do you expect from an ASUS board..

I am just waiting for new rampage to come in and my cooler...again..

i expect chuck norris to pop out of the box, and, does the intel board support sli?

You can do either SLI or X-fire..read this..

A feature about the X58 chipset that will appeal the enthusiast crowds like myself as well. This will be the first (besides Skulltrail) non NVIDIA chipset based mainboard which supports SLI and Crossfire making THE choice of weaponry for future high-end upgrades as you are no longer limited towards an NVIDIA supporting SLI chipset of for that matter a Crossfire bound infrastructure.

But to get SLI support activated, the mainbord series has to be submitted (by manufacturer) and certified by NVIDIA, after which they'll open up support through their drivers. To get multi-card graphics cards support Intel obviously had to include support for at least two x16 PCI Express 2.0 slots with the option for four x8 slots to support quad-graphics cards (CrossfireX).

..

knew that, just wasn't sure it they all had it, i know some motherboards won't support sli(from what i've heard) i'm sure there will be driver hacks soon enough though, sli on an x48/p45 board would be nice

Yeh,

I'm gonna try to remember to scan and post this guide intel sent with the new mobo..it explains all the new tech and is quite a good guide.

Very nice Scooter, hopefully your customer will post some benches

Yeah, he is a great guy. Best customer a small business could ask for..we actually havent told him--we are organizing the delivery with his wife, so it will be b-day/early xmas gift.

i seriously hope that computer isnt for a customer with cable management like that

Of course, that's how we ship all custom PC's....let the customer 'upgrade' their cable management system.

EDIT: Please add sarcasm tags when reading the above post

then re post and tell me if your still sad!

lol, well you should have put sarcasm tags in there then!

lots of shops charge extra for cable management, which i personally think is a rip off. got any pics of the finished product?
