Boy Killed Parents to Play Halo 3

are all of those things on reservations or just the indians? Cause thats gotta be pretty intense if the all live together... polar bears are beastly. (ahh, j/k, dont call me an idiot)

OK, look at Switzerland. They are required to serve in the military between like 18 and 20, and then they are required to keep their service weapon. So, theoretically every Swiss person has a fully automatic SIG 552 commando (which I think is standard issue) in their home. They have more guns per a capita than the USA, yet they have way less violent gun crimes. Why is that? They don't have any gun laws and gun control is non existent there?

99% of guns used in crimes are guns that have been acquired illegally. You still must pass a background check to buy a gun. I own a couple guns and I had to get my background checked as well. If you fail the background check you don't get the gun.

Prohibition didn't stop drinking. Making murder illegal doesn't stop people from committing it.

While, I will say that more guns does not equal a safer society, but gun control is far from the answer.

You dont get what I'm trying to say there.. I dont give a damn if all americans want to shoot eachother. and I also know that banning guns in america wont help, since almost everyone has one already anyways.
all I am saying is, because there are so many guns, the oppertunity to shoot someone is the more often than in a place where guns are banned.

in this case for example. the guy got pissed because he couldnt play the game, while still beeing pissed about it, he took the gun from his fathers locker, and shot his parents. now, if there hadnt been a gun. true, he could have gotten a hammer, and hit his parents with it. tough, I think that is less likely to happen, not to mention, the parens might have had a chanse to defend themselves.

anyways, like I said, I dont care of you sleep with a gun under your pillow, I jsut dont. but you cant tell me that it doesnt make a difference in crime rate weither guns are banned or not. (and like said, i know banning them wouldnt work in america,.. its how the 'country' became to be)

as for your example of switserland. I do think giving someone who had militairy training a gun is still a better idea than giving the average punk one.

just my 2 cents there. (and yes, I know what I just said might be exaturated,.. but you get my point, I hope.. )

I think your misinformed to assume all Americans have guns, to be honest I only know of 1 person that owns one and he had military experience. I think the issue is that you hear a lot more about how terrible guns are than how good they can be for home and self defense.

I know I was exaturating (or however you spell that). I'm just soo tyred of everyone beeing so defensive when it comes to guns.
seriously, who needs some full automatice gun to defend their home? if you do, you really picked the wrong neighbourhood to live in really.

I won't argue that statistically you are more likely to get shot when around guns than when you are not around guns. I agree with you on that. I will also say that gun free zones, like Virgina Tech, are also places people commit mass murder because they know, nobody has a gun but them.

You can't assume that, the guy was nuts. He killed his own parents. He also asked them to close their eyes because he had a surprise for them. When they did he shot them in the head. They had no chance to defend them self at all, no matter what weapon would have been used. They had their eyes closed.

Its OK, I remove it from under my pilliow when ladies sleep over. I know they don't all like guns:D

I think if you are going to own a fully auto you better have some sort of training for it. Those guns are dangerous when not using proper operating procedure. My point about the Swiss was that guns, be it more or less, don't dictate how much crime happens. The Swiss also have great education and free health care and a very low poverty rate. Unlike the USA where we have all of that, and lots of people don't have health care and those that do have health care get denied benefits on top of that. Our country has so many problems and there is not a single fix for all of it. No magic button that will reset us back to perfect.

I got your point and was never trying to argue. Just saying my opinion is all, and you are very well much entitled to yours. I don't even hold it against you if we were to disagree.

Let's say I'm a criminal and I want to commit a crime of some sort. I am going to want to go to an area I know guns are banned and won't be a problem I am likely to encounter.

Texas for example, I would be terrified to rob a bank in.

And aparrently a very high suicide rate which I suppose is easy to uphold if they all own a gun or two.

END OF THE DAY..... a firearm cannot fire itself at will, so it's down to the operator and their situation/state of mind!!

I love firearms, it's a GREAT sport - Clay shooting, practical pistol, bunny bashing(lamping) etc etc , and it's always the minority that mess it up for everyone else.

What an idiotic kid! I hope his dad never lets him touch another video game/ watch tv again!

Well I'm sure that he won't have to worry about that now...How old was the kid again? Because this is going to be pretty interesting. Legally you are responsible for your gun, and you are also responsible for your child if they are a minor, so is it possible that the father will be charged with the murder of the mother, especially if this kid is as young as I think he is

its ironic that likely because of this a kid that want to get a game somewhere else wont be able to because of this...I don't know what to call it...
that kids got problems to big for games

Im 14, I turned out fine and i've been playing "violent video games" since DOOM came out. And i'm fine *Reaches for gun* Halo 3 sucks anyway
