HELP - I want a Gaming PC!!

Hello, I am currently looking for a great PC for gaming, I am very limited as I can't afford to buy outright so the only option is going down the road of finance meaning I would have to purchase one for PC World or Currys.

I am stuck however I want a system that will play big graphics on high resolutions as my cuyrrent computer plays everything in slo-motion.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated, i.e your opinion on what to buy would be great as you will obviously know more about this then I ever will. I would also like a system that I could upgrade (in the future) and price is not really a consideration with the finance option as I want something great for gaming.

Thanks in advance for any help received.

Well, what's your budget?
and that "Slo-motion" is bad frame rate which happens on low end machines

I have a budget of about £1,300 at most really, what would you recommend?

It would have to be paid over 12 or 48 months though!

The Slo-motion thing is not what I want from a new machine however.

Are you serious? 1300 pounds is a lot of money to work with. What type of games are you trying to play?
Despite you gaming on the PC, what will be its primary use?

I suggest i7 with that being said.

Slow motion is only caused by slow end computer and by the looks of how much you can spend you won't have any bad frame rate :P

What is i7? Sorry you must excuse my ignorance. I am not trying to play anything over the top but games like Call of Duty World at War was severely laccy as was Brothers in Arms Hells Highway. I can't pay the £1300 outright but could take this up on finance with a gaming store like PC World or Currys etc, sadly its my only option.

Hope for more replies, thank you so far.

i7 is Intels new processors and you need to buy different parts to use that CPU so i would suggest getting a dual core or a quad core :P
These would be the processors i would pick
Dual core - e8400
Quad core - Q9550
you can get them at www.newegg.com and make sure you have a motherboard that supports them

i doubt he actually has anything needed for a gaming build, maybe ddr2 ram, and 1300 pounds is around 2500 usd(i think not sure of current exchange rates) so, you coul easily go for i7, probably a 920 with 6gb's of ram, and two 4870x2's

yeah, last time i checked, one pound= around 2 dollars, and 1 euro = around 1.5 dollars, but the dollar has gotten stronger, so i'm not sure

Let's find out what is in your PC now. Download this program: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_149.zip

Unzip it, run the .exe and go to the about tab. Click on Registers Dump (.txt), save that file somewhere that's easy to find. Open that text file and paste the text in a post on this thread.

ok here goes, is this what you need?

Yep, that's why i said i7 despite knowing that it can't be fully taken advantage of yet.

Honestly, i have more fun making older computers worthy of playing these new heavy games.

But at his budget, DX58 with the i7 965, here's a bundle i saw (not really a good price though):

thats not really a good bundle, thats pretty much the price of the mobo+the processor, motherboard is $258, and processor is somewhere around 1000 at newegg, and i really wouldn't suggest a 965 unless you were trying to set world records at overclocking

The poblem also is I haven't built a computer in my life so wouldn't know where to start and as stated I don't have the £1300 to spend on a computer just like that, so would need a finance option.

I saw this www.wired2fire.co.uk and they offer finance as well as custom built Pc's which seems right up my street, what do you guys make of it? Would I get a good deal from this?

Thanks in advance for any help received.
