Beryl is OLD... Compiz is what most people are using now. Just go to "System>Administration>Hardware Drivers" to enable the driver for your 8800 GTS. Then (if the effects don't work yet) go to "System>Preferences>Appearance." Then go to the "Visual Effects" tab and select "Extra" (you can select normal if you like, but it's not as good.) If you don't like the default settings you can configure them by running (in a terminal)
Then close out of the terminal and go to "System>Preferences>CompizConfig Settings Manager.![]()
