Right, here's what happened: I unplugged everything from my computer then opened the case up to install more RAM but there was a bunch of wired leading to a single plug that where in the way of the spare RAM slot so I unplugged them then fitted the RAM but afterwards the computer wouldn't do anything at all when I turned it on, first I thought it was the RAM but I quickly noticed that I forgot to plug the wires back in so I did. However, even though the computer then turned on and the fan came on and the optical drives beeped I got a red LED next to the first RAM slot and the monitor didn't come on.
I have tried refitting both sticks of RAM, leaving one in and one out but still I get the same problem.
