Serious Job Situation/ Microsoft Outlook

Hi.

I don't want to go into the details about my job, but let's just say they may try to use this against me.

I have been sick for the past 2-3 days. Very sick.

This past Thursday 2/12/09, I sent an email attachment to my boss via the MS outlook system we have at work letting her know that I will be unable to come to work the next day 2/13. Since I had been sick, I decided to make up some time today 2/15. When i get in, My boss tells me that the outlook email that was sent on thursday had arrived today (2/15), and that I did not let her know I was going to be out for work on Friday.

There is already an ongoing conflict between me and some other people at my job who are against me, but I wont explain further. I just know I sent the notice to my boss that thursday. Why is the outlook message late? When i looked in my "sentbox" folder at work, It shows that it was sent today.
:(

Is there a log or something to check? to show that i sent it on thursday? I dont want this to be grounds for my termination. Please let me know if there are any diagnostics or anything I can run.

THANKS!

What Do you mean by receipt?

What i'm talking about is I looked in my sentbox already, and it says it was sent today, not thursday.

then you may have drafted it and did not hit send. If you truly sent it, there would be a receipt from your client with the send time. The only other place to check is the email server itself.

Were you connected to the Internet when you tried to send it on Thursday? -_-
Tell your boss to hire me. I won't make that mistake. I'll call her and let her know when I'll be out, which will be very rare.

If the email was drafted, then how did it miraculously send itself?

I thought that draft email were just auto/manual saves? do they automatically send themselves?

tlarkin, how do I check the email server?

i will have to wait until tomorrow. I will check my draft folder to see If it was postponed for some reason. if it WAS, drafted, i should be able to see it in the folder? Right?

I just want to get this off my conscious for tonight, so I can sleep peacefully.

Check with your sever administrator they can look at the log files and receipts for your account. I have zero ideas how your network or servers are set up, so I will just have to guess.

I use outlook all day long...every time you click send does not mean it sends. The message can stay in your "outbox" folder for many different reasons. They shut down exchange servers sometimes for maintenance. All you can do is look at the "sent messages" folder on the computer you typed it from. Sometimes different computers will show your account a little differently.

Yeah but even then depending on your client settings it may receipt when it was drafted...
