Hello,

I bought a Zotac Geforce 9800GTX+ and it came with a 8 pin to 2x 6pin connectors.

This Card only has an 8 pin port on it.

My PSU does not have 2x 6pin connectors.

So i bought a molex to 8pin 12V, then I found out it was EPS12V 8 pin.

Will this still work with my 9800GTX+??

My psu is ATX but the converter is molex to EPS12V 8 pin.

Please help,

Thanks

Oh my thank god for that, so the Geforce 9800GTX+ will accept this EPS12V?

I have been worried sick about it, I have spent alot of money

Have you plugged it in and tried it out yet? You may have purchased an 8 pin CPU (P8) converter that plugs into a motherboard. That won't work.

Besides, that card should take two 6 pin PCI-E connections, not an 8 pin connection. The molex converters should be in the box, if you need them. You're probably talking about an 8 pin CPU power converter to the motherboard, and that won't work with your video card.

The card doesnt have any 6 pin PCI-E connections. Only 1 8 pin PCI-E.

THere is my card.

WIll I have to buy a molex to 2x 6 pin, then use my 2x 6pin to the 8pin.

Thanks

Thanks, I already have a 2x 6 pin to 8 pin.

However my 500w PSU doesnt have any 6 pin PCI-E which is frustrating.

Do you know how many amps are supplied on the PSU's +12V rail? Even though your PSU is 500W, it may not be sufficient. I wouldn't use any power supply without a six pin PCI-E connection. You may be able to get a molex to 8 pin PCI-E adapter, but first you need to find out if your PSU is sufficient. The 9800 GTX+ requires a minimum of 24 amps on the +12V rail.

Hi, thanks for your help.

That's alot of dough. Is that the cheapest around?

Cheers

Looking through this search at ebuyer, there are some cheaper models, but some don't meet the minimum requirements and others don't post the full specs.

Hello, my requirements would be

2x sata
2x 6 pin PCIE / or 1x 8pin PCIE
4x Molex min
500w 12v 24 amps

I take it, I am going to be looking at quite a lot of cash. I have learnt a lot this afternoon.

Thanks for your help

That looks about right. Good luck. Most importantly, you want something that meets the amperage and wattage requirements. If the PSU doesn't supply an 8 pin connection, you can always get an adapter, so long as it has at least a six pin PCI-E connection cable.

idk what you have in the uk but in the states we have craigslist and i could find an adequate psu for $40 (~28 pounds)

Hello, I have just been on that website.

Does that mean on a 12V rail i will get 38Amps????

Also it says this "4 Pin Molex to 8(4+4) pin +12V Powr Adaptor x 1".

Is this the 8pin beast I am looking for?
