Preferrably laser

wired/wireless not too picky

but i am picky on the looks, how it fits in the hand, and button layout

not a huge fan of side buttons

rechargable battery is good, ill settle for 2 AA's if needed

gaming and general pc use

thanks!

im one for how it fits. double aa work well. good for a year.
i would really goto your favorite store then check the fit your self.
look for the buttons also. (side). my logictech mouse and keyboard works well.
just bought an extra set on sale.
many keys on keyboard that are programmable.

I find the Logitech MX518 A really good mouse, altought it does have 2 side buttons, they dont get in the way, and its a pretty comftable shape and my hands arnt exactctly small, and another good thing about it is the price i got mine for £20 brand new, and its great for gaming an general PC use as it has option Dpi settings which you can adjust to your liking

thanks

i checked out the Logitech MX518 on newegg, looks decent. i skimmed the reviews, seems like a good mouse. ill try to find it somewhere in person so i can get a feel for it.

any other suggestions?

As others said before ,I would go wired .I would also go to a local computer store that has mice on display and give them a quick feel to see if they are comfortable to you.

No mouse is good if it doesnt feel right to you.

Most of the logitech mice are really good and I know first hand they stand behind their warranty.I also have a Mx 518 which is the same as the G5 except it is optical and doesnt have the weight pack of the G5.All in all you cant go wrong but do test a couple to be sure it is comfortable to you.Razer also make some pretty nice mice if you want to try those

I'd go with a good wireless mouse if you don't want tangled up cords! I only have to change my batteries once every 250 hours or so, but my mouse isn't really a high end gaming mouse.

if you like wireless the g7 can be a good choice (i use a g5 though). it runs out of battery quickly but it comes with 2 batteries so you can change it out on the fly and while your using one the other one is recharging. other than being wireless its identical to the g5 which is a great mouse.

One other thing comes to mind. batteries, there is a utility that installs. not that ya need it. it will tell how the battery is doing. myself i just change every 6mo and be done with it. on the other hand. if your moving the mouse and its just not moving. i have a can of pledge handy. put it on the towel and wipe the desk then good to go.

I would tell you to get the Logitech G5 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104076 ) But thats just me. It's a really nice gaming mouse. It's laser and wired. It might be 45 dollars but it's worth it.

+1 for the g5. this one is worth the buzz it creates. fits the hand perfectly, has weights you can add to adjust the feel, on the fly sensitivity adjustments, etc. all the bells and whistles you could ever want from a mouse.
