Is there a specific memory that can only be used on tri channel motherboards. is there such a thing as specific tri channel memory?

The reason im wondering is because i recently bought a new lga 1366 motherboard, and am wondering about which type of memory i can put in.

so does that mean i can't use 3 1gb sticks that used to be in a dual channel motherboard, on that motherboard i posted?

under $100 if possible, and if it makes a difference, i come from canada, so i would buy from newegg.ca

You can use any 3 same sized (ie 1GB) sticks of RAM that fit in the motherboard for triple channel. You don't need to buy a special kit if you don't want to.

Well, depends on exactly what memory also, as older legacy ddr3(above 1.65volts) poses a risk to core i7 processors as the memory controller is on the cpu die, not the motherboard.

I would be using pc3 8500 1gb ddr3 1066 memory, comes from a dell studio xps 435mt.
