Western Digital all the way. My brother has had a WD for about 5-6 years now under a lot of stress and it's still running strong!

The last few years I have been using the cheapest ones I can get, typically OEM Samsung.

Not sure as far as the numbers, but i sure havent bought any for a long time. Just like hitachi back when they bought ibm's hard drive division with the deskstar, aka the deathstar... I still wont buy a hitachi drive.Maxtor has always had a bad reputation. Has that changed since Seagate purchased the company?

lol, and you could have got an intel ssd these days for around that pricehaha. I've owned my 1TB Deathstar for a couple years... I'm about to sell it. I haven't had any issues with it, but I bought a larger drive so I no longer need it. Dude, back in 07 I paid 400$ for that drive. It was the first 1TB drive released and I had to have it. I feel like such a n00b.![]()
