How to make this cheaper

I've seen several benchmarks showing the phenom II 965 can out do the i7 965 Extreme at times.... it's nearly up to speed with the 920 and out does it at times too...

AMD is an overall better cpu for gaming IMHO
The phenom II's are nowhere close to the intels in performance, plus if the "Phenom II X4 965" is close to a 920, there is also an almost 1Ghz difference. Ive seen 920's hit over 4Ghz, and 4Ghz is where some of the higher clocked Phenom II's overclock to. The i7 920 is quite a bit faster clock for clock.

+1

I hope AMD catches up soon and when they do I hope they don't take over the market and charge a fortune for there CPU's like they did 5 or 6 years ago. i7 920 is really the only Intel worth buying right now. Core 2 Duos and Core 2 Quads are eol plus you can get the same performance with AMD now. The higher end i7's are not worth it when the 920 can OC to 4.0GHz.

You posted the same links twice number 1 and 3 number 2 has nothing to do with the 965. In any of them did I see anything suggesting the 965 could beat the 920 in any test. No matter how far you OC the 965 it can't beat the i7.

Running an amd cpu will feel no different then running an intel cpu. First time I tried amd I felt the same way but was surprised how nothing seemed different. I havent done much research but I would assume that an amd chip would be much cheaper then a comparatively spec'd intel chip.

Ebay is one of the last places to buy everything is cheaper on newegg plus you get a warranty and if anything is wrong with a part it is easier to return.
