Help with new processor please.

Hey what is Processor NB voltage? I wanted to raise my voltage to my processor a hair but when i got in it says the highest i can do to my processor is 1.3 even though it is running at 1.38 right now. But i has 2 options it says processer voltage and processor NB voltage. are the 2 added up or something?

Also, This thing is amazing! My performace has increase soooooo much! I can finally play Supreme commander and Empire without stupid slow downs or the AI not knowing what to do even when I tell them what to do.

The CPU voltage and CPU N/B voltage are two different settings. The CPU voltage is for the cores. The CPU N/B Voltage is the onboard memory controller. You should only have to raise the CPU N/B voltage if your overclocking your memory.

okay, that is wierd than because it doesn't allow me to go above 1.3 even though it is running at 1.38, also what is just North Bridge voltage? not processor NB voltage

The plain N/B voltage is the Northbridge on the motherboard. Thats odd it doesnt give you any CPU voltage settings. Did you reset the bios after you flashed it, by the jumper on the board? If not only do it with it off and unplugged.

Well, I looked up my motherboard and it doesn't allow me to go over 1.3 for CPU voltage or CPU NB voltage, which is strange since my CPU is running at 1.38, So i guess I cannot clock my CPU any higher than what I have now :(

Bet you just havent found the right settings.

Here is what it says.

Intelligent overclocking tools
- AI Overclocking (intelligent CPU frequency tuner)
- ASUS AI Booster Utility
Precision Tweaker
- vDIMM: 8 -step DRAM voltage control
- vCore: Adjustable CPU voltage at 0.0125V increment
- vChipset 4-step Chipset voltage control
SFS (Stepless Frequency Selection)
- FSB tuning from 200MHz to 600MHz at 1MHz increment
- Memory tuning from 533MHz up to 1066MHz
- PCI Express frequency tuning from 100MHz up to 1066MHz at 1MHz increment
Overclocking Protection
- ASUS C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall)

turns out that with the BIOS update i did it chaged a bunch of stuff so before i cold change the CPU voltage to 1.7 max but now it is down to 1.3 the update changed a bunch of things.

Did you reset your bios after the update. I dont see any reason Asus would kill the voltage settings.
I pulled the battery out of my motherboard today which reset my bios, i changed my FSB and my computer would not work, the monitor would stay blank and it wouldn't even make it to the bios. I have also checked sites now that say it has a max of 1.3, but before the update it was 1.7 or so it says in my users manual.

Download and install AMD Overdrive, see if it will allow you to increase the CPU voltage.

It does work. Now I keep getting the BSOD when I try to get to about 3.8, I have increased the voltage and my temps are fine but it won't run stable. Is there something I am doing wrong or that I should try?

Are you using the multiplier or the bus to overclock? What CPU voltage have you got it at. On air cooling 3.7-3.9 is not bad.

Well, I have water cooling, and I was increasing the BUS, the CPU voltage was at 1.3875, but the BSOD kept poping up when I ran the stability test.

right now I have 1.375 for the CPU voltage

When you use the Bus it overclocks your HT and memory. Set you bus to 200 and try using the multiplier. If not you will need to bump up your CPU N/B and motherboard N/B plus your Memory Voltage.

Okay, so I tried taking a Print screen of my AMD overdrive for you but my prtscn button doesn't work for some reason. Anyways I have a few issues that I just found out about. First off my RAM Frequency is at 430MHz (I don't understand the DRAM frequency part, should it be at 430 or higher?), which It should be 800, turns out this is a problem with the motherboard. Secondly, I am not sure what to ajust my voltages to,

Here is what they are at

CPU VID 1.375
NB VID 1.1000
MEM VDDQ 1.8
MEM VTT .901
NB CORE 1.094
CPU HT 1.199

Since ram is DDR is my actual RAM runnign at 860MHz?
