Set ram speed

Cant figure out how to get my ram to run at 1600mhz which it should. Specs in my Sig. I e-mailed Gskill but, you guys can prob help me out.

What are the specifications of your RAM ? (Please include the model number.) Also what is the voltage rating of the RAM?

Do you know what Divider you are using inside the BIOS?

You'll have a Divider setting in there somethere which will run by your FSB/RAM Speed ratio.

It seem's you have it set at half speed.

Could you take a pic of inside the bios? If I can see It i'll tell you what to change.

Well I posted on Asus Forum and E-mailed Gskill so hopefully I figure it out soon. Is it possible I have them in the wrong slots? I have them in slots 1 and 2. Thats correct, right?

Set the voltage manually to 1.8 volts.

I set it to manual and the highest it would let me go is 800mhz

800MHz or 800MHz DDR? They are very different, the first being the right speed and the second being 1/2 of the right speed

As for what slots to put the RAM in, I think Asus always color codes them so that if you put the RAM in the same colored slots you will have dual channel.

I dont really understand your problem. Your memory settings should go 400/533/667 and 800. Your Memory is DDR so set at 800 is DDR3 1600. 667 is more or less DDR3 1333 and so on.

Got the Timings set right and set to 1.8v but, still cant go above 800mhz. What else am I missing?

Ahh Gotcha!! Im kinda new to bios stuff so my apologies. So everything looks good, then?

Looks fine, just make sure the voltage and timing is set at what ever its suppost to be at 1600. Some boards have the bios set at the DDR speed and some like your has it set at the real speed. DDR3 1600 really runs at 800mhz.

DDR can send or receive data on the rise and fall of the clock cycle. So running at 800mhz, its effective speed is 1600. Like my DDR2 1066 really runs at 533mhz.
