Computer Boot Issue

I was browsing the No p.o.s.t trouble shooting guide, step by step. thread and saw:

Important: If you turn on your computer and nothing happens at all, then that is not a no POST issue, it's a power issue. If this is the case, then you've got the wrong thread.

Hence why I am here.

I just bought the AMD Phenom II X4 940 Processor, eVGA GeForce GTX 260 and eVGA GeForce 9500 GT.

I am using the ASUS M2R32-MVP motherboard which states it supports AM2+ and my video cards. I have a 650W Corsair PSU.

I put everything in, attached the two 6-pin cables to the 260 and hooked the cables back. I turned it on and got:

The bottom red light on constant (I think ten seconds.) while my keyboard four lights stay on as well.

There is no POST sound, but the HDDs and fans are going. It sounds as if it is booting up but I do not get picture.

I took the two cards out, put the old one back, nothing. I took that out, and put the 9500, nothing.

I have one stick of RAM in, nothing.

Something about possibly doing something to the BIOS? That's fine, but how the hell am I supposed to do that if I cannot see what is going on?

Anyone seen this before? Thanks.

Try this, take the video card out and the memory out and try turning the pc on. If it doesn't beep at you then you have a motherboard problem. If it beeps, then its letting you know there is no memory installed.

And as far as you having 2 video cards, you aren't trying to use them together are you? I thought you can only use 2 of the same cards in crossfire and SLI, maybe i'm wrong.

You can try resetting the cmos by removing the cmos battery for a few minutes. Make sure you unplug the power supply from the wall and press the power button on the case a few times to discharge the board. And then put the battery back in and boot up.

I even put the old CPU back and nothing. What the ****? You can use two vid cards because I use four monitors, so I do not SLI.

You should get a constant beep or quick beeps depending on the maker of the bios. What kind of beep do you get?

Its a socket am2+ how the hell does it not support this
wtf

or is it cause you said the chipset thing?

Well your board is really a AM2, it just supports AM2+ Phenom I processors. But down grades them to 1000/2000HT and DDR2 800.

Did you reset the bios? Turn it off, unplug it and hit the power button a few times, reset the bios by the jumper or take the battery out for a minute. Plug it back up and see if it will boot.

should everything be fine after that. I can then put my new vids back in and test that out right? just ignore the cpu until i get a new board (if this isnt dead)

Sure you have got everything plugged back up right, dont get tore up and over look anything. CPU fan, 4/8 CPU power connector

Yeah, it's all plugged in. The red light stays on for like ten seconds. I heard something like that would be an issue?
