I got my i7 920 today and now i have everything I need to get the first computer build going. So here's a picture of everything. It shouldnt take me long to get this bad boy squared away but once i get a keyboard and mouse today, i should have everything installed and test everything out.

Yes there is an Antec 900 next to the 902 but I will use the Antec 902 for this build.
 
Need help. I put everything together but when i try to turn it on, it comes on for 1 second and it shuts off. Am I missing something???

I think it is seated properly. What happens is when i plug it in, I turn on the power supply and then i see a light from the motherboard(power switch from the inside) then i press the power button and its just cuts on and off (fans from the power supply, CPU cooler, and the big fan for 1 second). Im not sure whats going on right now.

check the ram or try with one stick only. can you get into bios? i had a problem like this before, i had to use some generic ram to get into bios and change the ram voltage to the required for high-performance ram i had bought.

dam thats nearly identicle to my first i7 build

i got

i7 920
asus p6t se
g.skill 6gig ddr3
xfx 4890
coolermaster 700 watt psu
antec 1200

unfortunatly my mobo was DOA so i purchased the foxconn flaming blade
 
I've tried taking out everything and reputting everything back in and I get the same result, fans spin for 1 second and shuts off. I get a power light when I look into the motherboard. I cant even get into the bios.
 
I have this bad feeling that its the motherboard. Everything is installed properly but does not boot up. Any other suggestions?
 
The brass standoffs are in the case right? or is the motherboard screwed directly into the case? If you didn't install the standoffs it will short out.

Take everything out of the case, build the system on a piece of cardboard, if everything boots properly you most likely have a short in the case.

The brass standoffs were already in the case. I already determined that I have a defective motherboard. I did everything from pulling out the ram sticks to reassuring that I did not miss anything. Im already in the process of ordering a new mobo. I cant return that other one since I bought it very cheap off ebay (brand new too) plus there's no warranty for that board. At least I know everything else works.
