Ready to build

I screwed up the installation when i looked over one brass standoff after taking a look at the overall motherboard. Guess you live and learn... Im ordering a Foxconn Flamingblade mobo... Sorry for putting you guys through all that trouble :(

If the motherboard is new it should be under warranty. Don't order a new motherboard until you attempt to get a return merchandise authorization from Asus. You could get a replacement for just the cost of shipping the defective board back to the manufacturer.

Unfortunately, I bought the motherboard more than 14 days ago off ebay. Since the product is not under warranty through the company i bought, im stuck with the mobo. Here's the company's (not ASUS) return policy...

The brass standoffs are in the case right? or is the motherboard screwed directly into the case? If you didn't install the standoffs it will short out.

Take everything out of the case, build the system on a piece of cardboard, if everything boots properly you most likely have a short in the case.

I took the other standoffs and put them in. Reinstalled everything into the case, got power finally but I already shorted the mobo. So what I did and to make sure it never happens again, I went ahead and put the standoffs in my other antec case so I will never short out another mobo again. I cant believe I missed that... So sick...
