Problem I really need HELP with

Hi, my name is Peter and I am new to the forum.
I have been allocated the IT department at work because i know how to turn one on. Thats my first worry. Fixed a few issues which is good.
Anyway I need help with my own laptop.
I have 2 screens connected to it.
And whilst typing in any program it seems to lose its place, this is hard to explain, my flashing cursor dissapears and i can not type anymore, it just beeps at me until i click my cursor back to my last letter i typed before it decided to dissapear, using my mouse I can reclick where i was and continue typing but it happens every 15 seconds and is driving me insane.
Also if I am left clicking on my mouse and drag the scroll bar it will just drop out and I have to click again.
I am using XP.
Only happened last week.
Can someone assist me please.

depending on the program it could be set to hide the cursor while you are typing. there is a place somewhere that should disable that feature.
 
It seems as if something, it's hard to tell what, is somehow changing the window that is in focus. Does it happen if you keep the cursor right over the box/area that you are typing in (without clicking to regain focus).
 
well in that case it could be that you are hitting a key while you are typeing. i have done that several times with my laptop and its pretty annoying. also there could be a program that could be doing something in the back ground. i wound up disabling the onboard mouse and buying an external mouse.
 
If anything was spilled on the laptop at all it could cause things like this... It does sound very suspicious though, I think you should scan for any malware on that machine. Maybe make a new thread in the security section, theres a stick there that will help you.
