Need Help with Computer Please =(

Hey everyone,

I'm new to this forum, but I really need help. What happens is that my computer turns on, (screen says no video input), stays on for a little bit, then restarts and stays on, but still no video input on screen.:(

Edit: Also, all the fans and lights are on and working fine, so I assume it isn't the Power Supply

Specs:

Motherboard - Asus Rampage II Gene
CPU - Intel Core i-7 930 LGA1366 2.8 GHz
Power Supply - OCZ ModXStream Pro 700Watt
RAM - OCZ 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666 Platinum Low-Voltage Triple Channel (OCZ3P1333LV6GK)
Video Card - Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X Overclock edition

I don't think it is the Ram because I took out the Ram and it still behaved the same way.
I also don't think it is the video card because I switched it with my other comp's vid card (Sapphire Radeon X1950) which still works on the other computer, it behaved the same.
I tried removing everything and putting it all back together but there was no change.
I am assuming that it is a Faulty Motherboard or a Faulty CPU, does any1 else think that?:confused:

NB: I bought everything today, so everything is brand new right out of the box.

No it hasn't worked at all :\

And this might sound childish, but you kno when ur a kid and u jus can't wait to get a toy, and then the toy breaks rii when u get it, or it doesn't work the way it showed in the commercial :P. That's how I feel rite now XD :(
 
Did you install the standoffs between the case and the motherboard? Try assembling the system outside of the case on top of some cardboard or something and see if it boots up.

Dang that's what I was going to mention. Even if you did install standoffs though, Take it out anyway. Also, is the no video message in the bios or just the general no video message on your monitor?
 
Yupp I installed all of the standoffs. (u mean the gold screws that go into the case rii?)

BTW, I don't think this is that important, but my case is the "Fractal Design Define R3"
and the Hard Drive is the "WD Caviar Green 1.5 TB 32MB/SATA-3G"
 
still take it out and reassemble it outside the case. you could have hit something that shorted the board.
 
The no video input is on the monitor not the BIOS. OMG after this ordeal, I'm gnna be able to re-assemble and assemble my computer in like 5 minutes XD

I tried this on a piece of cardboard. Sadly it still did the exact same thing as before. :(. Any other ideas?

I really need this computer, and fast. Because I'm sing my dad's for now, and he needs his almost all the time he's at home, so there is no where for me to do school work that needs a computer. :\

And just a guess on this but maybe your missing a power cord somewhere? IDK if one goes to your video card or not or maybe you have another one to the motherboard you missed?

I've checked and double checked, and I connected the one that goes to the video card. There are no more places to plug anything into the motherboard anymore (besides fans). Should I ask for a replacement motherboard? Or could it be the CPU?
 
BTW, there are 3 more "things to plug in" (for loss of a better word) from the Power Supply, bu they aren't mentioned in the motherboard manual, nor is there place on the motherboard for them. :S
 
Haha well troubleshooting has never been my thing... most of the things wrong with my computer would be a cable unplugged. Sorry :/

What is the CPU Power Plug?

Aii, I see a 4 pin plug near the CPU and I plugged in the corresponding wire coming from the Power Supply. (under the plug it says "EATX12V")

I have an 8 pin wire coming out of the power supply, but I do not see any place to plug it into the motherboard :S. Do you know where this is located?

NB: I am using the Asus Rampage III GENE mATX (not the "Extreme")

^ I found out (from the manual) that the GENE has a four pin plug not an 8 pin plug, so my answer would be, yes I did plug that in. :)

I just realized this today, but the "CPU LED" light on the motherboard is red, which according to the manual means,

"Crazy-red means : 1. VCore voltage is 1.6-
2. CPU PLL 1.8 voltage is 1.961-
3. QPI/DRAM Core voltage is 1.7- "
