Disable optical drive eject

Here's an odd one for you guys. I'm starting to use my old Inspiron 1420 again. Basically I'm reviving it with a new battery, more RAM, new CPU, bigger HD, and a BD-ROM.

Here's the problem (which has been around for a while, just more prominent recently...) When I pick up the laptop, the BD-ROM ejects. It's something about how I press into the drive as it's lifted. Basically if you press on any part of the tray, eventually it will release/pop open.

I'm looking for a program or something to disable the eject button on this drive. If it were a standard DVD drive, I'd probably just rip it off. However, I'd kind of like to keep this bluray drive in good shape :P I don't really care how the program works as long as I can somehow use the drive when I want.

I've tried one program but it wasn't compatible with Windows 7 x64. Most of the others are from sketchy sites/sources. Suggestions?

I'm not sure it's possible to do this with software, since the drive probably doesn't exchange any information with your OS before ejecting when the eject button is pressed. I would say that the only way you could accomplish this would be by disassembling the drive and manually disabling the eject button. The drive could still be ejected by right clicking the drive under My Computer.

Are you sure it is an electronic eject issue?
My laptops have mechanical eject also.

100% sure. I've seen very few laptops (no common ones) with a mechanical only eject.

I have a few DVD-RWs laying around. I'll probably end up going back to one of those drives and removing the eject button :P
