Hey all. I have been planning out my next build. I figured after 5 years it was time. I have a few questions and am looking for advice on cooling.
I had someone tell me this build was overkill. Since I keep my rigs for a long time, and need allot of power, I do not agree.
This is what I am planning.
Case: Coolermaster HAF X Nvidia Edition

Mobo:Asus Maximus IV Extreme
http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=AoHE7iDJrYucOm0n&templete=2
CPU: Intel i7 2600K
http://www.intel.com/consumer/products/processors/specifications.htm?proc=52214
GPU: 2 Gigabyte GTX 560ti SOC in SLI mode
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3729#ov
RAM: 8GB Dominator GT

Also will be using a power supply in the 1000 watt range, but no less than 850.
This is my biggest sticking point right now on what to do with the coolers. If the heat spreaders on the Dominators really don't offer much in the way of extra cooling, can I remove them and still get decent heat control on the RAM? If this is the case I can go with the Noctua NH-D14. I could also do a smaller model from them.

Otherwise I am looking at the Corsair H70 (with quieter fans)

Does anyone know what the life expectancy of the H70 is? I assume I would have this computer for 5 years. Are there better options? I do not want to go full water cooling.
The rig will be running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I also will be running a RAID 1 for sure but may opt for a 0+1 setup. My main goal there is redundancy. I will not be using SSD.
There may be some very minor OC'ing. i.e., no more 4Ghz and some small tweaks to the vid card. Maybe. I do not OC RAM.
The hardware I have picked I am set on getting. I do not want to debate what pieces I have chose. I argued with people on my last build (my 4th) against their better judgment and it turned out to be the best computer I have had to date. I do my research and choose well performing, reliable components that play nice together to obtain a solid, stable rig.
I game, I do graphics work, I do photography work. I use Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, I mulit-task while using these programs, so I need processing power and lots of RAM. I am coming from an AMD FX-60 w/2GB of Corsair XMS RAM (with the blinking lights) running an XFX 7800 GTX512, on an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MOBO and it is slow at times, especially in Indesgn interestingly enough.
Thanks a bunch for all your help. I truly appreciate it.
