I have seen a 32" flat screen TV with a resolution of 1920x1080 would this be a cheaper alternative to a monitor of the same size.It would only be used as a monitor not as TV.Comments needed before i buy, thank you.

They can go that high. Heck my 26" can. But you are going to want to keep it at 1366x786 For the best picture. I think the quality is great and I would go for it, but I know others will tell you differently.

Thanks for you input thats what i want before i buy. It's not an expensive TV
but to buy a monitor the same size would be three times the price.

i would def go for it russ screen that size would be great, and its exaggerated that a tft screen is better quality than an lcd tv, i have a 22in tft lg flatron and my uncle has a 22in umc lcd tv, and both on software and games his picture is as good if not slightly better than mine, it all depends on the individual screen, but you do get what you pay for with lcd tv so as long as its not a crap brand like alba etc go for it

Well done chaps 2 for none against. It's a Tecnika which i think has been around awhile,i know it's cheap £240 but for what i want it for and as i said
the price of a monitor that size is three times the price it seems a bargain.

Just got a 26inch toshiba last night at a local pawn shop. I gotta get an HDMI cable for it right now I have vga hooked into it. Took a while to get all the resolutions right with the games. But I love it. Helps with gaming, and I can double it as my tv ^_^.

Wife found a computer monitor from the same people who supplied my computer Novatec,it's a 28" full HD LCD i know it's 4" smaller but being a proper monitor for £249.95 i think that would be my best option dont you.

Thanks chaps i have sent off for the 28" monitor so when i get it i will be asking you how to rig up 2 monitors to 1 computer.I did give a search but i like to hear from you people. Thanks again.

Nice buy russ :)

To hook up 2 monitors:

If you look at the back of your computer where you plug in the monitors, you should notice you will have more than 1 port.

Plug in each monitor to a separate port, then start up your computer. You will probably notice at first that you have the exact same thing on each monitor.

Once fully booted, right click your desktop and click Screen Resolution. There will be 2 monitors now. instead of 1. There are 2 (maybe 3 or even 4 at most) options you have to change:

1. The resolution. Pick which monitor you want to change the resolution of with the drop down box next to Display

2. make it so the monitors "run into" each other. To do this, check the "extend desktop" box. I don't think that is the exact name, I can't check because, as you know, my PC is out for the minute and I'm on a crappy netbook, but it is extend something. You will know it when you see it

3. Select which you want to be your main monitor. To do this click identify monitors and a number will appear on each screen to indicate which is monitor 1, and which is monitor 2. Say you want monitor 2 to be your main monitor (the one with your start button and taskbar), you would select the second monitor from the drop down menu and check the "make this my main monitor" box

4. If the monitors are the wrong way round, so your right monitor is on the left and your left is on the right, you can drag box 1 to the other side of box 2 so they are the other way around.

If you still aren't sure what I mean, I think I may be able to nick my sister's computer tomorrow, so will show you with pictures and print screens
