Nice buy russ
To hook up 2 monitors:
If you look at the back of your computer where you plug in the monitors, you should notice you will have more than 1 port.
Plug in each monitor to a separate port, then start up your computer. You will probably notice at first that you have the exact same thing on each monitor.
Once fully booted, right click your desktop and click Screen Resolution. There will be 2 monitors now. instead of 1. There are 2 (maybe 3 or even 4 at most) options you have to change:
1. The resolution. Pick which monitor you want to change the resolution of with the drop down box next to Display
2. make it so the monitors "run into" each other. To do this, check the "extend desktop" box. I don't think that is the exact name, I can't check because, as you know, my PC is out for the minute and I'm on a crappy netbook, but it is extend something. You will know it when you see it
3. Select which you want to be your main monitor. To do this click identify monitors and a number will appear on each screen to indicate which is monitor 1, and which is monitor 2. Say you want monitor 2 to be your main monitor (the one with your start button and taskbar), you would select the second monitor from the drop down menu and check the "make this my main monitor" box
4. If the monitors are the wrong way round, so your right monitor is on the left and your left is on the right, you can drag box 1 to the other side of box 2 so they are the other way around.
If you still aren't sure what I mean, I think I may be able to nick my sister's computer tomorrow, so will show you with pictures and print screens
