Is DDR2 1066MHz the same as DDR3 1066MHz ?

Thanks! I think its safe to say that your not as bad as most of the people i see in st helens :)

thanks, I guess. I will agree that we aren't the best bunch, however I still maintain Wiganers are worse, every time I go it is like another world, so many people there have no shame lol

I have to agree, im lucky i only live on the outside of wigan, near enough warrington, so its not so bad here, but wiganers are pretty bad if im honest :/

^Ignores conversation.

DDR3 and DDR2 prices are pretty similar now, so changing a system to accomodate a certain RAM type because of price really isn't an issue. If you don't mind spending a tiny amount more, you'll find it's best to spring for the DDR3.

Thanks for getting back on topic, and i cant afford a ddr3 mobo, especially as iv only just bought a ddr2 mobo and already put it in the case :( so its really my own fault :/ clever me! :)

I would buy a motherboard that supports DDR3 memory and use that, DDR2 WILL only be SLIGHTLY slower, but why buy something that is already outdated for quite a while now?

Depending on what socket you are on, you can get a £40-50 board that will support DDR3, but of course, unless you have an AM3 CPU on an AM2+ mobo at the moment, that would mean a new processor as well

I havent bought the CPU yet so the socket isnt a problem, but i have just bought an asus mobo for £70 from novatech, who have now stopped selling them. but im sticking with DDR2, i will probably be building a new computer in a year anyway :good:

btw Aastii, i just saw some chavs around mine on the way home from college
