Is this too much to ask? I want to be able to press @ and get @, not a "

I fixed this last time I installed Windows XP. There was an option for it. Only YESTERDAY!!!

Reinstalled windows today and now I can't find that option. Cant make it work.

Same installation disc. Same computer.

No wonder people buy Macs!!!!!!!!!

Did some ****ing pixies come in during the night and swap my installation discs for a laugh?

Please help. I can't do this anymore.

What keyboard did you set as default. Seems that you have set a european somehow. Try going to the languages menu and selecting american (or whatever country your in) standard keyboard. Might fix the problem.
 
Blame windows all you want, it's the different keyboards for different languages that's the problem here. I'm a lazy typer so here's the steps.

What's wrong with you?? Leave it to an inexperienced spazz to point blame in the wrong direction.

Man it is not Windows's fault.It is your fault.When you were installing Windows OS,during the installation process it asks you what language you want to use,what language you want to use for your keyboard and the time zone.You obviously just clicked NEXT without even adjusting that properly so that caused your keyboard to work that way.
So go to the REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE options and adjust your keyboard there and stop blaming Windows because it is your fault lol.

The problem is resolved but you seem to get a lot of pleasure out of telling me it's my fault. The truth is, I answered the questions posed during the installation process yet I still had other settings to make once Windows was installed, with regards to the keyboard I was using. Yes, I do blame Windows for this because the options I was given and chose, did not help set the keyboard up correctly. So while it may seem obvious to you that I just clicked 'NEXT' without adjusting anything properly, that simply was not the case.

I chose the appropriate English keyboard set up during installation. Unfortunately, this didn't take so I had to mess with it after Windows had installed.
