Amd

I think it is a good move for AMD to start making RAM. Another option to make money for the company. I wonder if Intel will follow AMD on this road?

I doubt it, but who knows.

Something nobody talks about.
I think Intel is in panic mode over AMD APU/A8 and so on because of the GPU performance. When AMD puts the Zambezi core on it,(even if its just close clock for clock) look out. (The OEM market for it is huge). And as far as I know, Intel has nothing to compete against it. Intel will have a, The Intel HD Graphics 3000 is not as bad as you think its is campaign. Or see the Intel HD Graphics 4000 monster (not). I guess they could buy Nvidia out.

I've seen 1333mhz/cas9 and 1600mhz/cas11 which isn't all that great.
No, not that great. But it's a look-see. Lets look and see what our brand(s) name and marketing can do in another area, kind of thing.

Adding RAM to the lineup could easily help open doors to oems/builders. More from one place costs less, even if there were no extra incentive from AMD to use all the components they have available.
