cpu temp 127 degrees c

have just reseated heatsink and slowed down temp build up but decided to shut down comp at 101 degrees c .
Has anyone got any ideas

Hello,

I am wondering where you pulled that information from? To me, it looks like you bought this computer second hand.. Maybe from Craigslist?

However, I noticed this: (FreezerPro64 cpu-fan & a tiny bit of thermal paste in tube. Fan not > fitted.). To me, that looks like there is no thermal paste on the CPU, and there is no fan on the heatsink.. You may want to make sure there is thermal paste on the CPU and a fan on the heatsink.

Yes, thermal paste is a good thing. ;) Also, you may be getting an incorrect reading. Try checking your temps in the BIOS. For most Asus boards, I believe that you have to hit the "delete" key. You have to hit it right as the computer boots up, and not at the OS boot screen. There should be a section for hardware monitoring.

everything is fitted with thermal paste applied have added a side fan for extra exhaust and have slowed temp increase down considerably but cant seem to stop increase

have taken temps from bios and have managed to slow temp increase but not stop it.I have added an extra fan on case side for extra exhaust but still climing slowly

is cpu fan big enough or do i need a faster rpm took 100 seconds to reach 81 degrees cpu fan running at 2050-2159 rpm only one case fan monitored at 1000-1091 rpm

What exactly does Fan not fitted mean? If your saying the CPU fan is not on the heatsink, thats your problem. The 64 pro is not meant to use without its fan.

Did you completely clean off the old compound? When you apply new, use the amount of a grain of rice in the middle of the CPU and let the heatsink spread it out.

Have you looked at the CPU fan and made sure its working? You said you added a side fan as a exhaust. Turn it around as a intake. Have you got the CPU fan pointed to the front of the case, if not it should be.

i have a 1200 mm fan intake lower front of case, 800 mm exhaust top rear of case, 800mm exhaust on case side. heatsink has side mounted fan which can go on top or at bottom . cannot point forwards or backwards so to drecrease temp probs it blows from bottom to top of processor to avoid heated air being sucked from psu.

cpu fan registering and visually seen working 2050-2159 rpm

yes all spotless when i reseated applied a small line as i read on the net and spread with heatsink

You may of put too much paste on the CPU. The word "small" can be interpreted in various sizes. For ex, StrangleHold said "size of a grain of rice". What is your "small line" compared to? If you have too much thermal paste on the CPU, that will work against you and create more heat.

E: Is the fan on the CPU heatsink blowing air away or to the heatsink? If the fan is blowing into the heatsink, that will cause the temperature to rise. Make sure the fan is blowing air away from the heatsink.

hardly anything on there system turned on just on bios so it is idling been on about 5 mins and got up to 63 degrees just gone to 64

Thats just really odd for it to get that hot, if the CPU fan is throttling up like it suppost to. Even if you do have bad case air flow. Turn the side fan around and make it a intake. And you do mean 80mm. not 800mm?

All the freezer pro 64 I have used for AMD either pointed toward the front or back with the AMD bracket.

Here is one pointed right. Toward the front.
