Alright, so not sure if anyone cares or not, but this is what i got so far for my build:
Case: Corsair 600T White Edition - I really like this case, it's clean looking, easy to build with.
MoBo: Asus Maximus IV Extreme Rev. 3.0 w/ Dual DDR3 - Dispite what people think, i really do think this board is awesome. Not only do i love Asus BIOS, but with this board i can do a lot of stuff. Not to mention some of the features it comes with is awesome.
CPU: Intel Core i7 - 2600K - After researching what you guys have said about this processor, i would be stupid not to go with this. It is one hell of a processor.
HDD: 2TB Caviar Black Western Digital 7200RPM - As far as i know, this HDD is pretty decent. I really don't need 2TB but it's priced pretty good
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V+ Series 128GB - I wanted a 500GB, but seeing as i am unsure what brand to go with, and never trying an SSD before, i thought i would try this one (decent price for what you get) If i like it, i will get an additional one to go with it.
Optical Drive: LG Super MultiBlue 10x Blu-ray Disc Writer w/ Lightscribe - Just a disc drive. Nothing special
Video Card: Asus Matrix GTX 580 Platinum 1536MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI - from what i have been reading, this card is pretty good. I am sure there are better ones out there, but right now my choice is on this one for how good it performs. I was also looking at the EVGA GTX 580, they seem pretty good. Still in research mode on this one slightly.
PSU: Corsair Gaming Series GS 800W - from what i have looked at, Corsair is the way to go. I figure 800W should be plenty (if wrong, let me know) Picked the gaming series because they are suppose to be superb on quality.
Memory: GSkill Ripjaws X Series 8GB PC3-17000 Dual Channel (2x4GB) - Memory is where i am having the most trouble with. So much to choose from. I picked this because it gets very high ratings. I want to try GSkill (was told it is pretty good). Was thinking about 2 packs of 4GB of the same stuff instead of 1 pack of 8GB. Main reason is i like my memory banks filled (visual appearance) don't need more than 8GB.
Now I am just going with Windows 7 Premium, i have no use for ultimate or professional. Haven't really decided on liquid cooling yet. One option is going for Corsair H100 CPU cooler and just add a heatsink to the GPU (not too keen on this one). Do up a custom cool job, but run into the problem of radiator space. The way i would fix this is build a separate cooling cabinet (with all the bells and whistles to go with it). Something i am going to keep looking at.
So that is pretty much what i got so far. I was trying Newegg.ca, but the prices are higher than my local computer store. Plus they told me that they would cut me a discount on everything if i buy from there.
Now because i am new to liquid cooling, and haven't built a computer in a while, i was going to go get the Corsair 600T case and put my components in my desktop in it and try out a few things. I am also new to overclocking as well. The following are the components i have right now:
Case: Just a cheapy, doesn't even support liquid cooling.
Motherboard: Asus P5K SE
CPU: Intel Q6600 2.40GHz
Memory: Kinston DDR2 6400MHz total of 8GB
HDD: Western Digital WD5000AAKS-00A7B0 ATA Device (500GB)
Video Card: NVIDA Ge Force 8800 GT
PSU: Will have to look into lol, its just a cheapy, and i gotta look harder to see how many watts
So basically i want to take all of this (with possible upgrades to this) and overclock (something that i will have to learn how to do). At the same time, try out liquid cooling.
So basically that is just an update for now. Let me know what you guys think. None of this is going to get built until i get to see how the Bulldozer performs. If it is something that interests me, i get to do this all over again.
Leave comments and let me know what you guys think
thanks for all your help!
