mhmm...Yeah, BUT, so am I.- I use floppies, Win98-SE WinXP-PRO dualboots, Hotswap trays, etc. I even have a K6-3+ machine I still use. And THANKS for the answer.
you realize that even on ebay those cost over 600, for that much you could get up to date with a 2500k, a decent gigabyte z68 mobo, 4 to 8gb's 1600mhz ram, a good psu, and a nice case and possibly win7 too and other accesories.
Who in their right mind could possibly want Win 7 ? Every new version of "Windopes" that comes out, is BIGGER, MORE BLOATED, AND SLOWER, than all the versions that came before. Day will soon come when you will have to have an FSB up in the terabytes to type a letter in less than an hour because of "WINDOPES" getting more and more BLOATED.
QFT. Outdated hardware isn't worth spending money on. It may be the top of the line for its class, but it is still outdated and not as advanced as the new revisions and generations of processors available on the market today.
Why don't you actually try Windows 7 (On an up-to-date machine) before making assumptions like that.
I had a 600 MHz K6-3+ machine with 512 Meg of RAM that ran an XP-Pro - 98-SE dualboot just fine. Faster than some newer machines I have seen. How would it do with Win 7 ?
agreed
and actually for win8 they're cutting it down and for the dev preview it boots and works wayyyy faster than xp on my old comp (althoug for some reason it doesn't like my computer so doesn't work right and can't use my wifi adapter so i can't use it.)
