Cannot access router settings through WIRED connection

I've had this issue before... not sure what caused it. Was setting it up for my dad, on the same machine, wireless worked to access, wired did not. Very strange.

Do an Ipconfig /all at a command prompt and list the details given for the default gateway.

That would be the address you need to use to access your router. Perhaps you are connected to some other router on your wireless machine?

Does it list the same numbers for dhcp server?

That shouldn't be right, my router's default ip was 192.168.1.1 and I never changed it. My wireless machine is definitely connected to my router.

No, the DHCP server is listed as 99.242.228.1

Then try the dhcp server number. If that don't work, something just isn't right. Do you have more than one router in the home?

Your internal ip address is what the router assigns your pc. What does it list? I just didn't want you to list your external IP address that goes out to the internet.

You won't see internal IP address, you will just see IP address. I was just expressing what the difference is just in case it did show you your external ip address as well.

Ah I see, for whatever reason I always thought it was the external IP. It lists it as
