Which internal hard disk is quality?

Isnt it programed by the same people that programs russians space probes, lol. They dont even know where the last one landed.

Now Seagate hdd are not quality and not lasting.

I think you might make mistaken. You might has drop or you buy oldest hard drive that have problem. I know SeaGate for long time and there are different model that have problem but not all. I have SeaGate for 4 years, no problem and no slow down. I have three hard drive from SeaGate.

PS. It is very important to read review for hard drive.

Its important to keep your receipt, haddrive stops working bring it back and get another one.

I have used many WesternDigital,Seagate,Maxtor harddrives and they last for years,i never actually had one stop working completly yet, these harddrives lasted longer than any car i ever had,lol

Those days drives work great but not now. Western Digital hdd are rubbish storage drives ever. So we should be careful when purchasing hdd. Thanks in advance.

And just what exactly is wrong with western digital? I have a 640GB 5400 RPM western Digital in my lappy and have never had an issue with the drive. I have never used seagate, but maxtar was good back when I had one. Toshiba has also given me very little trouble, but they are not generally a reliable drive.

I really think it all depends on what country you live in. Seems STARS and a few others that don't live in UK or USA have issues with them, so my assumption may be correct. When I first got into computers all I would ever use would be WD and had no issues. Then all of a sudden, I come across some bad drives so I switched to seagage for awhile. Then started having issues with their drives and didn't like the way you had to ship them back to them in special wrapping. So I went back to WD and have only had 1 bad drive shipped to me in say 3 years. All I order is WD for my client builds as well. I bought one Samsung drive about 6 years ago and its still going strong, its the SP2504C. In fact I have all my music and data backed up on it.

Let's face it, they are a mechanical drive and can die at any time. But I've never in my lifetime seen drives go out like STARS has said they have for him. So again, I'm assumming thats its where they live or where they are getting their drives from. Maybe the drives are handled rough in shipping.

But basically the only drives I would consider buying are in order.

1. WD
2. Seagate
3. Samsung

Unless they have changed, Maxtors ran too hot. And there were way too many problems with toshiba/fujitsu drives.

Yea I agree. It probably does depend on the country we live in.I guess my country hates WD drives lol.But just imagine that 20 WD drives die within 3 months lol. That is even worse then that YOU die instead lol xD :D

Johnb35 maybe I should order WD drives from you from now on lol.

You are right by saying that ANY HDD can die and ANY TIME no matter which one it is...WD,Seagate,Maxtor,Toshiba,Fujitsu Siemens,Hitachi,Samsung and so on...

As for Toshiba HDDs,I couldn't agree more.Few people I know bought a Toshiba laptop which of course had Toshiba HDD and it died within 8 days hahaha! The first thing you would start to think would be:"WTF LOL?!"
That is what I said when that happened lol.

My worst luck was with WD drives.None of them lived more than 2 - 3 months.
But I guess that at the END there is no such thing as BAD HDD TYPE.There is only BAD LUCK lol.

Johnb35 this might sound surprising to you,but I have few very old 20 GB and 40 GB IDE WD drives and they work perfectly even today and I love them. But these new ones just die lol.I guess my country hates WD lol.Bastards :D

Cheers!

I will toss in that of all the HDD utilities out there, the Toshiba utility is the worst. It will tell you a perfectly good drive has failed.
