Customizing a gaming PC

I need help on which graphics card too chose, my budget is strictly 600 pounds and it needs to be able to run the modern games at 35 fps + with decent settings, if you find any pc's that would be right for me please tell me :) One last question, what's a better GFX card;

AMD Radeon HD 6450(Dedicated)

or

NVIDIA GeForce GT 630(Dedicated)

With a £600 build you could get a much better card than either of those. You may even be able to afford the likes of a 6850.

Would you like me to spec you a build for you?

Yes please! :D I'm on cyberpowersystem.co.uk and everything is so much more expensive than it needs to be, I was thinking of building one myself but I was worried of it going wrong :P

OK I'll spec one for you from Novatech or Overclockers. I'll be back with a build very shortly! £600 max including Windows?

OK for £592.91

CPU Core i5 3470 Quad-Core http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...encorei3,i5andi71155socket/bx80637i53470.html
Motherboard GA-Z77X-D3H http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...el1155z77chipsetmotherboards/ga-z77x-d3h.html
RAM 8GB RipJaws-X 1600 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...dr3-pc3-12800/1600mhz/f3-12800cl9d-8gbxl.html

Case Fractal Design Define R3 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/cases/fd-ca-def-r3-usb3-bl.html
PSU Corsair CX 600 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/cmpsu-600cxv2uk.html
DVD Samsung DVD-RW http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/opticaldrives/satadvdwriters/sh-s222bbbebe.html

Graphics Card Radeon HD 6850 http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...aphicscards/amdhd6850series/hd-685x-zcfc.html

HDD Seagate 500GB http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/harddrives-internal/sata500gbto1tb/st500dm002.html

What you can do if you want is maybe spend less on the case and get something like this instead http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cases/cases/4044951012657.html and then get a better graphics card such as this http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...ards/amdhd6870series/ax68701gbd5-pp2dhg2.html - the cost then would be £605.49 but those parts are lesser quality. Sharkroon is not as good as a brand as Fractal Design and PowerColor isn't as good as XFX; but the 6870 is definitely a faster card than a 6850.

I'll have a look on Overclockers now and see if I can get you the same sort of build for cheaper.

Yeh take a look please, how much more expensive would it be for it too be pre built, and how do you know that everything will work together, and I thought building one would be really difficult :O Thanks so much for helping me :)

If anything buying pre-built would be more expensive than building it yourself and buy building it yourself you'll get better components.

Everything there will work together, I didn't just choose the parts randomly lol. :D

All the parts will work together. No issue there.

Putting a computer together is like a 10 piece jigsaw puzzle. you just don't have a picture of the finished product.
Each part will have a specific location, and it will be completely evident which part goes there when you look at it. The only ones that take a minute to figure out is the power button wires, and the motherboard manual will tell you how to set them up. You can also google how to build a computer and watch the neweggTV videos over at youtube and you'll see how easy it is.

By buying the parts from Overclockers you can get a better build for less. The processor is clocked slightly lower but you won't notice it at all because you've got a much better graphics card here.

It really is extremely simple. My build took me an hour or two, but you don't want to rush it - take as long as you like. Wouldn't really need an aftermarket cooler on that CPU. You can't overclock that CPU so the stock cooler would be fine. If you want to overclock you'd need to spend more and get an i5 3570K and a cooler such as the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-404-IN and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-039-AR

for a first timer, going off what I have seen in CTE1, about 2 hours or so. Generally takes me 30 or so minutes to assemble one if I am not too worried about how it looks. then another hour or so doing cable management.

And yes, it is really that easy. Most people think it is a lot harder than it is. Just like changing teh oil in a car.

Depends on your screen resolution. I'd say you'd be able to play both of those games smoothly with this build very easily, can't give you an FPS figure because I don't play either of those games and I don't know what your resolution you're playing at.

Nope they already come with a fan. If you want to overclock though, as said earlier, you'd need to spend more on your CPU and get an i5 3570K and get an aftermarket cooler/fan for the CPU, yes - otherwise no.

Yes the motherboard comes with a manual, SATA cables and a whole bunch of other stuff. If it doesn't come with a hard copy of the manual (unlikely) then you can download it from Gigabyte's website.

No problem. Are you going to go for the Overclockers.co.uk build?

Yeh that one, I'm just thinking, once it's all together, is it just like I shove it in the case? how do I then plug it into a monitor? How do I install windows 7? What are the possible problems? What could go wrong?
