There are a few 180GB drives about, but usually the sizes go 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB. The price of 256GB drives are slowly going down and all the SSDs I mentioned earlier should be available in 256GB.
You will need thermal paste for the CPU, such as this
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/cooling/thermalandcompounds/as5premium3.5g.html, put a little bit of that on the CPU (a pea-sized drop), then put the CPU cooler on top of it.
You don't need glue.
You don't need a network adapter if you want to use ethernet, just plug it straight into the back of the board.
You don't need a controller card, SATA ports will already be on the board.
By the way, if you're getting an SSD, you want to do the following:
- Plug the SSD into a SATA 6GB/s port (look in your board manual if you can't find them)
- Go into the BIOS (again, look in your board manual if you don't know how) and set the SATA type to AHCI.
- Make sure no other hard disk drives are plugged in.
- Install Windows 7 on the SSD.
- Once Windows has installed, install your SATA/AHCI drivers (they should be on the CD or DVD which came with your board).
That's how you get the best performance out of an SSD.
