Hello,
I've got a CHIVF with a 1090T processor. Either the CPU Fan was having issues or the CPU its self was having issues (I think it was the fan because it wasnt always kicking in at full speed) but all together i started having heat problems. I purchased the Corvair H80I to take care of this issue. When removing the heatsink the CPU came with it! Looking it over everything looked fine, no bent pins. Cleaned it up, reinstalled, installed the new water cool (with pre applied thermal paste) and no post! the CHIVF has an LED indicating that the CPU is the issue... Using the ROG Connect, getting a CPU Initializing and not getting any further, my assumption is its the CPU... I even removed it, cleaned up the paste, added more and reseated, same issue. Any ideas?
Oh, I also, tried with only one MEM stick, tried resetting the BIOS via the bios reset button, nothing is making this thing post. re seated the 24 pin and the 8 pin. Unplugged the optical drive. I think the CPU is dead.
I considered replacing the chip with the new FX 8350 but im concerned with the BIOS being out of date and therefor continuing to have the same problem.
I dont have another system to test the MOBO and the CPU with. Help me out! thanks.
