This is my first computer built, It gives me many problems and I want to list them all so someone can maybe tell me whats causing the problems and how do I fix them.
- Sleep mode doesn't work, if i put it to sleep the computer would turn back on but not the monitor and to restart the computer i had to unplug it from the wall
- 3.0 USB functionality doesn't work, I am pretty sure i plugged it in correct
- Ethernet Cable functionality doesn't work, when i plug it in the motherboard the light shows but the computer itself doesn't find it
- Random shutdowns and freezes, when i run a game like BF4 or even MineCraft or even many tabs at once the computer used to freeze and I'd have to restart the computer, but then I called the motherboard company they said my temperature was too high so i installed a H60 corsair with silver 5 thermal paste and the temperature significantly dropped from 70 degrees to 30 degrees, but then when i ran BF4 it skyrocketed to 90 degrees and shutdown without even freezing this time.
I tested all 4 ram sticks and the computer froze every single time, I think it is the motherboard or the CPU but I don't know for sure please someone help me.
CPU - AMD FX 8120
GPU - GTX 460 SE 1GB
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 Rev 1.1
16GB Ram - 4 Sticks
Viewsonic VG2227wm
I also want to upgrade my GFX to a GTX 760 but i don't know if I should get a 2GB or 4GB because I am also planning on buying a Asus VG278HE 27 inch 144 hertz monitor and I was wondering if getting 4GB would be more useful since it is a huge powerful monitor that I will be gaming on. I would like to know the difference I would have from getting the 2GB and the 4GB, I don't know if I would get an advantage or it's useless for my build.
