Computer Problems Help!

This is my first computer built, It gives me many problems and I want to list them all so someone can maybe tell me whats causing the problems and how do I fix them.

- Sleep mode doesn't work, if i put it to sleep the computer would turn back on but not the monitor and to restart the computer i had to unplug it from the wall
- 3.0 USB functionality doesn't work, I am pretty sure i plugged it in correct
- Ethernet Cable functionality doesn't work, when i plug it in the motherboard the light shows but the computer itself doesn't find it
- Random shutdowns and freezes, when i run a game like BF4 or even MineCraft or even many tabs at once the computer used to freeze and I'd have to restart the computer, but then I called the motherboard company they said my temperature was too high so i installed a H60 corsair with silver 5 thermal paste and the temperature significantly dropped from 70 degrees to 30 degrees, but then when i ran BF4 it skyrocketed to 90 degrees and shutdown without even freezing this time.

I tested all 4 ram sticks and the computer froze every single time, I think it is the motherboard or the CPU but I don't know for sure please someone help me.

CPU - AMD FX 8120
GPU - GTX 460 SE 1GB
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 Rev 1.1
16GB Ram - 4 Sticks
Viewsonic VG2227wm

I also want to upgrade my GFX to a GTX 760 but i don't know if I should get a 2GB or 4GB because I am also planning on buying a Asus VG278HE 27 inch 144 hertz monitor and I was wondering if getting 4GB would be more useful since it is a huge powerful monitor that I will be gaming on. I would like to know the difference I would have from getting the 2GB and the 4GB, I don't know if I would get an advantage or it's useless for my build.

Did you install all the drivers, that should take cars of your Ethernet/USB 3.0? Use the drivers off Gigabyte site and install all of the ones listed. Well except the SATA/RAID/AHCI if your running windows 7 or 8. Not the ones that came with the board. Did you install the updated Video drivers from Nvidia? How much compound did you use on the cooler, just use about the size of a small grain of rice and let the cooler spread it out. That temp is way to hot, especially if your not overclocking. What brand and model power supply do you have? Is your memory running at the right speed/timing and voltage?

Definitely sounds like an overheating issue over anything else. I am assuming you are not overclocking? If so, disable it and view the temps. Are all of your fans running correctly? Either way, should not be getting that hot. I am assuming the processor temps are what was hitting 90 and not the GPU. I would make sure all drivers are up to date and working properly.

I am not overclocking, my gpu temp is fine my case fan is 30 degrees and stays there. I don't know how to check my drivers.

I don't know how to download the drivers and replace them, or even check if they work, the gpu drivers are up to date. I did put a small grain of rice, I don't know what my memory is running at, i assume stock, I will send you the power supply specs soon but i think it is 750 wattz.

Get your drivers here, like said if your running 7 or 8 no reason to download the SATA driver. Just download the rest and save them. Pretty sure they are a exe. So you just run them, if not just open the file and look for the application file and run it. Click on the Support & Download tab, pick drivers and your OS.

Download and install CPUZ, under the memory tab it will tell you what speed/timing and voltage your memory is running at.
